Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Kollective Kreations

Getting Started

Q:Do I need any experience to participate?

A: No. Decoden and Jewelry Bar sessions are beginner friendly. We explain the process at the beginning, and staff are nearby if you need help choosing materials, using tools, or getting started.

Q:What is the difference between Decoden and the Jewelry Bar?

A: Decoden uses cream glue, charms, pearls, rhinestones, and decorative details to decorate items like phone cases, frames, hairbrushes, and accessories. The Jewelry Bar is for bracelets, necklaces, and charm keychains: you choose a chain, pick charms on a tray, then attach them with jump rings and pliers.

Booking & Attendance

Q:Do I need to book in advance?

A: Yes! We strongly recommend booking your session ahead of time, spots can fill up, especially on weekends or during special events.

Q:Can I walk in without an appointment?

A: While we love spontaneous creativity, walk-ins aren't guaranteed and depend on availability. Booking ensures you won't miss out!

Q:What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

A: Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Please see our full Refund & Cancellation Policy page for complete details.

Workshop Details

Q:How long does a session usually take?

A: Regular Decoden and Jewelry Bar bookings are 1.5 hour sessions. Choosing charms usually takes the longest, so arriving on time helps you enjoy the full visit.

Q:What's included in the price?

A: Your session includes the project materials for what you book, tools, workspace, and beginner-friendly guidance. Decoden bookings include cream glue and decorative materials. Jewelry Bar bookings include the standard chain or base package for the option you choose.

Q:Are materials reusable or take-home?

A: All completed accessories are yours to take home! Materials that aren't used in your project stay with us for future makers.

Q:Does my Decoden piece dry right away?

A: You can take your Decoden piece home the same day, but the cream glue takes about 3-5 days to fully dry and cure. We box it up so it can travel home gently.

Design & Materials

Q:Do I bring my own phone case?

A: We carry phone cases for most iPhone models and select Android devices. When booking a phone case session, please make sure to select and specify your phone model during registration. This will confirm availability and allow you to complete your booking. If we don't have your exact model in stock, you're more than welcome to bring your own phone case. In that case, pricing will be adjusted at a lower rate, since you're providing the item.

Q:Can I bring my own item to customize?

A: Yes, you can bring a personal item to decorate. It should be clean, dry, and suitable for cream glue application. If you're unsure whether your item will work, reach out first and we can help confirm.

Q:What kind of finishes and charms do you offer?

A: We have a wide variety of charms, beads, glitters, and themed accents that you can use to make your design uniquely yours.

Q:What if I want something specific (like a theme or colour)?

A: Tell us your vibe when you book! We'll do our best to have materials ready, and you can always mix and match during your session.

Jewelry Bar Pricing

Q:How does Jewelry Bar pricing work?

A: Each Jewelry Bar option has a base package. Standard chains are included, premium chains are +$5, premium charms inside your package are +$3 each, and extra charms beyond your package are $5 each for standard charms or $8 each for premium charms.

Q:Do I assemble my own jewelry?

A: Yes. You choose your chain and charms, then use jump rings and two pliers to attach the charms. Staff are nearby if you need help.

Parties & Groups

Q:Should I book regular sessions or request a private event?

A: Regular booking is best for smaller visits where everyone can book a project. Private events are best when you want the whole studio reserved for your group.

Q:Do you offer at-home parties?

A: Yes. At-home parties are available for groups of 6+ guests in Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. We bring the project supplies and activity; the host provides table or counter space.

Q:How do private event payments work?

A: Private events use a studio booking fee plus a project minimum for each guest. A 25% deposit holds the date once confirmed, and the remaining balance is due on the day of the event.
